Although Timothy “Tim Dog” Blair was reported to have died in February, a Mississippi woman is claiming the Bronx rapper faked his own death. She alleges the rapper swindled everyone in order to avoid paying back $2 million in scammed funds.

What makes the claim even more bizarre is that a CBS news station in Memphis hired investigators to look into the matter. The result–a death certificate for Blair was not found.

Blair, best known for his scathing West-Coast diss record, “F-ck Compton,” was reported to have died from complications related to diabetes on Valentine’s Day. Esther Pilgrim of Southaven isn’t convinced that Blair is dead, however.

“He really thinks he can outsmart everybody,” Pilgrim, who said Blair conned her out of $32,000 in a botched business deal, told WREG News Channel 3.  Apparently, Pilgrim isn’t alone in thinking Blair still walks the earth. “Twenty victims have contacted me personally from around the world,” she added.

Blair and his scamming of Pilgrim was featured on Dateline NBC last summer. This was after he was ordered by a Mississippi judge to pay back $19,000 in restitution in 2011.

Pilgrim asked a friend to travel to Atlanta and look into his death, but the search turned up empty. WREG hired a private investigator as well, who also couldn’t find the certificate. This latest turn of events confirmed Pilgrim’s suspicions even further.

“Oh, I think there is a great chance that he’s alive,” she said.
