An Alabama man accused of sleeping with another man’s wife, pulled out a machete to quiet the allegations. Police in Mobile say Eric McFadden brandished the weapon amid the love triangle dispute Monday (May 27).
According to Police Cpl. Christopher Levy, McFadden got upset over accusations launched at him by a man claiming to have been cheated on while in prison. McFadden denied sleeping with the man’s wife when the angry husband was locked up, but talking didn’t get his point across. Steeped in fury, McFadden went inside his house, grabbed a machete and cut the victim across the wrist.
McFadden was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, while the man sustained minor injuries and was treated by paramedics.
The 51-year-old has a previous criminal history. Since 1983, he’s been arrested 27 times on 71 separate charges.
Machetes are making a comeback in the world of heinous crimes. A man in London used the weapon to behead an innocent soldier last week. The suspect, Michael Adebolajo, is a reported Muslim extremist. His family released a statement this week condemning his actions, stating in part that “there is no place for violence in the name of religion or politics.”
