Break out your shorts and fire up your grills. It’s officially summer, and Dom Kennedy has liberated a new track called “Never” to usher in the season.

The Leimert Park native sticks to the formula by spitting his patented slow flow over hypnotic production by The Futuristiks. The result is a song  that feels best when you close your eyes and zone out to its ambient melody.

Playeristic lines like, “I never do much talking/ I never do much tricking/ I never do no hating/ I’m what the game’s been missing,” are customary on any record by the From The Westside, With Love rapper. It’s safe to say that fans can expect more on his forthcoming project Get Home Safely.

“Never” follows the release of another new track by Dom called “Nothin’ Like Me,” and will assumedly appear on Get Home Safely. Expect more information on when to expect the free album in coming weeks. Until then, check the rhyme on “Never” below.
