Olympian Lolo Jones took to Twitter yesterday to make a joke about a key witness in the Trayvon Martin murder case, and was instantly attacked for the attempt. Jones made fun of Rachel Jeantel, the last person to speak with the slain teen before his death.

She probably should not have done that.

Jeantel’s two-day run on the witness stand was interesting to say the least. While being cross-examined by accused Martin killer George Zimmerman’s lawyer, the 19-year-old rolled her eyes, sighed heavily, and was pretty much annoyed by every question launched her way. The high school student’s large frame is where Jones decided to take aim.

From TheGrio:

Jeantel took the stand testifying for the second day in a row on Thursday. Her appearance, speech and demeanor on the stand have drawn criticism from social media users.

Jones, who has over 358,000 followers, tweeted about Jeantel, comparing her to Madea, Tyler Perry’s most infamously uncouth character.

Rachel Jeantel looked so irritated during the cross-examination that I burned it on DVD and I’m going to sell it as Madea goes to court.—

Despite critics like Jones, there are Jeantel supporters who have come to the teen’s defense.

Jones received a tremendous backlash from her fellow Twitter users and followers for her remark, with some telling her to “stop” and “grow up.”

Jones deleted the tweets, which didn’t really calm the backlash, and as always, Hip-Hop Wired has some of the tweets for you. Check them out below.
