Hit-Boy Reveals He Is No Longer On G.O.O.D. Music

Could there be a G.O.O.D. Music exodus in the works? During the BET Experience weekend, producer/rapper Hit-Boy revealed that he is no longer signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label

Speaking to Hot 97/Miss Info, the “Jay-Z Interview” rapper stated matter-of-factly that his time in the house that Yeezy built was up, but that the split was amicable. “I got nothing but respect for Kanye. I’m no longer a part of G.O.O.D. Music anymore. But HS87 that’s where ny heart is. That’s where I’m repping.”

Upon further inquiry, Hit-Boy shared that his departure was because his contract was up. He said, “I committed my contract. I just did what I was supposed to do. I came in and I did six, seven singles for the label and just did what I was supposed to do.”

Hit-Boy signed with G.O.O.D. Music a little over two years ago. Back in October 2012, the Cali native signed a management deal with The Blueprint Group, the firm founded by Gee Roberson and Kyambo “Hip Hop” Joshua of Hip Hop Since 1978 and Cortez Bryant (Lil Wayne’s longtime manager) of Bryant Management.

Do you think Hit-Boy’s contract really came to an end or did he just not want to offend his political connects? Let us know in the comments.
