“Like Whaaat” is easily a summer anthem right now, and we have Problem to thank for that. Compton’s own has been simmering since his Welcome to Mollywood mixtape series grabbed ears.

A steady buzz has followed the 26-year-old whose list of collaborations ballooned to include Wiz Khalifa, T.I., and Chris Brown, among others. “Like Whaaat” off Welcome to Mollywood 2 has more than 1.7 million hits on YouTube, and in this day and age, digital page views count towards a certified hit.

Turns out, the League of Starz rhymer wasn’t exactly sitting on the edge of his seat waiting for “Like Whaaat” to do well,  he was busy working. “We was just in the studio working, and then you come and you see what’s going on. That’s our motto man, just stay cuttin’ [records] something’s gon’ come.”

The remix to “Like Whaaat” –released last month –features  Khalifa, Brown, Tyga, and Master P. In Hip-Hop Wired’s exclusive interview with Problem he thanked the rap squad for jumping on the re-up, talked up his DJ Drama-hosted The Separation mixtape, and more.
