Successful DJs have a special ear that allows them to hear what songs, mixes, etc. will move the crowd. Historically, this skill set has also translated into quality tunes when your favorite jockeys create tracks featuring actual artist.

Case in point, renowned EDM DJ Chuckie connects the unlikely trio of Lupe Fiasco, Snow Tha Product, and Too $hort on a new release called “Makin Papers.” The result is a smooth blend of three rhyming styles that would ordinarily look weird on paper.

Lupe is the x-factor in the song’s success, because he contributes a sharp verse and a catchy chorus. That pretty much allows the bubbling female MC and Short Dog to fill in the blanks.

The song’s production also manages to retain a Hip-Hop bounce, despite a clear club music inspiration.

An accompanying visual is said to be on the way. Listen to “Makin Papers” below.
