It’s easy to get that rappers are people too, and make mistakes like the rest of us. Sometimes, those errs in judgement get the attention of the media, forcing stars large and small to step up to the podium and apologize to the public.

Since these figures aren’t immune to poor behavior, there have been several instances over the years where a famous rap act had to get together with their public relations team, draft a statement, shoot a video and shake a lot of hands. Most times, but not always, a threat to income (like say a lost endorsement deal), has led to the public contrition.

Hip-Hop Wired looks at 11 rappers who have publicly apologized for acting a fool, spitting an offensive lyric, and other frowned upon and unfortunate decisions.
