Earl Sweatshirt recently performed a brief set at NYC’s Ludlow Garage on the second stop of Vitamin Water and The Fader’s 2013 #uncapped concert series. Afterwards, he sat down with host Miss Info to discuss his most recent happenings: a certain highly anticipated project called Doris and the recent Twitter fiasco surrounding his negative opinion on Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail.

Fans have waited over three years for the proper follow-up to the Odd Future affiliate’s 2010 cult-classic mixtape Earl. With the album slated for an August 20 release, Earl provided some insight for how listeners should absorb his studio debut.

“When you can sit down and listen to the whole album, it’s a totally different thing,” said the young lyricist. “Like even the songs that are out now sound different in the context of the album.”

On another note, the “Burgundy” rapper is still receiving slanderous rebuttals to his open discontent for Hov’s latest body of work. “A lot of n***as were like ‘Bro you have not done enough in your career to be having an opinion’,” scoffed Earl.

The 19-year-old defended his statements with, “I love Jay Z. That’s why I didn’t like this album so much. I listened the s**t and then I listened to something else, and I was like ‘I don’t like this.'”

No one’s forcing you to agree, but please remember that these are his thoughts. Deal with it.
