Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines” is easily the biggest hit of the summer of 2013, but it didn’t stop Jimmy Fallon and the Roots from giving it their own twist. The Late Night With Jimmy Fallon collective and the blue-eyed soul crooner performed his hit with children’s instruments, and it still knocks.
Before the show, Jimmy, Robin Thicke, and The Roots grabbed some instruments you’d find in an elementary school classroom and stopped by the Late Night “Music Room” to sing Robin’s hit song, “Blurred Lines.” (instrument list below)
Jimmy Fallon – wood block, Casio keyboard
Robin Thicke – spoons
Questlove – wooden clacker
Mark Kelley – kazoo
Kamal Gray – xylophone
James Poyser – melodica
Captain Kirk – ukulele
Tuba Gooding Jr. – recorder, banana shaker
Frank Knuckles – cowbell
Black Thought — maraca
Black Thought killed it with an all new verse. Definitely dope, but it could have used more cowbell.
