T.I. Sits With Shaheem Reid On The Round Up Season Finale [VIDEO]
Veteran journalist Shaheem Reid interviewed some of your favorite rappers and industry personalities for his Life+Times series The Round Up. For the season finale, he caught up with T.I. backstage at one of the America's Most Wanted Festival shows to discuss an array of topics.
The beloved southern MC kept the conversation both candid and eloquent while speaking on his lengthy tenure in the game.
Now an independent artist, T.I.P. revealed that he would only sign with a another major label if the opportunity was right. "You can't just go sign superstars for hundreds of thousands of dollars nowadays," he said. "If you looking at it like you're signing an artist, you're already looking at it backwards. You gotta look at it like you're acquiring a multimedia company, because I operate in so many different facets."
The Kang has found various ways to maintain his relevancy, and insists that this is because of his natural ability to "connect with people in all walks of life, from the dope house to the White House" without compromising his integrity.
