Like it or not, Kendrick Lamar and all the rappers he has feeling a ways about his “Control” verse is still the hot topic of the week. We asked Charlamagne Tha God of Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club to speak on who he felt was worthy of responding to the Compton rapper.

If you’re familiar with Charlamagne, you’ll find his pick of a certain Toronto rapper as the best candidate to answer in kind as a bit of a surprise.

“I say this reluctantly because I’m not a fan of this individual but the only person that can get at him with bars is Drake,” Charlamagne told Hip-Hop Wired. “But Drake would actually have to rap. He can’t do no stupid ass Sandra Huxtable depressed over Elvin singing sh-t. He would have to rap.  ‘Cause he can rap, when Drake actually raps, he’s one of the best. ”

Before you even say it, he wasn’t trying to shade Joell Ortiz. Check out the rest of Charlamagne’s rationale below.

The South Carolina native will be hosting a late night show on MTV2 called Charlamagne And Friends starting Tuesday, August 20 at midnight.
