Last night many gathered at the Manhattan Center in New York City to see Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams receive Icon Awards at the 2013 BMI R&B/Hip Hop Awards. Among those in attendance were the original Cash Money Records cast sans an incarcerated B.G.

Juvenile, one of the collective’s superstars, expressed how proud he was to see his partners get their just due.

“Slim and Baby is kind of like… really are the fathers of New Orleans Hip-Hop outside of Master P, so I feel like they should have got honored for this maybe a couple years ago,” explained the renowned rapper, who said the honor was humbling nonetheless.

Despite a well documented fallout with Birdman and Cash Money, Juvie has been spotted with his old wrecking crew a few times in recent months. “We been united. I don’t know if we’ve been under the same building, the same roof at one time,” he explained

Juvenile also said he has some new material featuring the old gang on the way. See the full interview below.
