Despite contrasting styles, Project Pat and Wiz Khalifa share a strangely ill chemistry on wax. Today, the pair show and prove this once again on a new tune called “Chiefin’.”
The cast suggests that there’s no historical context to the title. Instead, the rhyming duo pay homage to their well-documented marijuana pastimes over hard-hitting production. Let Pat and Wiz tell it, “Chiefin’ like an engine” is an admirable habit.
Along with bars about their Cheech and Chong habits, the pair kick a few slick, street savvy bars as well.
Unlike their last collab — a track called “Still Got It” — this Drumma Boy-produced cut will find a home on Project Pat’s forthcoming Cheez N Dope 2 mixtape. The project will be hosted by DJ Scream and releases September 6. Until then, lend an ear to “Chiefin'” below.
