The pull up your damn pants committee will get a kick out of this one. A Brooklyn man punched a woman and stole her cell phone. While trying to make his getaway, cops were able to nab said struggle criminal because his sagging jeans slowed his escape.
Yes, this really happened. The New York Post reports that Joel Donaldson, 21, allegedly 2-pieced a woman in her face and snatched her cell phone in Brooklyn near Borough Hall. Donaldson tried to flee on foot, but his unfortunate choice in fashion foiled his getaway.
A traffic cop spotted Donaldson running while trying to pick up his pants which were sagging and exposing his boxers. Reportedly, the robber made it a block before his pants were by his ankles, allowing the officer to tackle him to the ground and arrest him.
“He was zigzagging all over the place, but he couldn’t run because his pants was falling down,” witness Arlene Williams told the Post.
Donaldson was charged with robbery. No word on whether or not cops asked Donaldson if ever heard of a belt.
