George Zimmerman Punched Wife's Father Over Right To Be In Home [LISTEN]
Details regarding the skirmish between George Zimmerman and his father-in-law have begun to emerge, this after Zimmerman's wife, Shellie, placed a frantic 911 call Monday (September 9) to police. It appears that Zimmerman was angry over being told he couldn't enter the home that he and his spouse had been renting from her parents.
TMZ got the exclusive scoop on the story, which gets more bizarre by the second. As previously reported, Shellie Zimmerman placed a call to authorities and stated that her husband allegedly assaulted her father and threatened the pair with a gun. TMZ writes that Mr. Zimmerman was angry about his right to be inside the rented home.
George Zimmerman allegedly punched his estranged wife's father during a childish dispute over who had the right to be in the house -- the renter or the owner, aka George or his daddy-in-law ... TMZ has learned.
Sources close to Zimmerman tell us, George and his estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman have been renting a home from her parents, but ever since she filed for divorce they've been avoiding each other like the plague -- scheduling house visits ahead of time to keep the peace.
Must've been a snafu in scheduling -- because we're told George showed up Monday AM to remove some things, and ran into Shellie and her dad.
The former night watchman was told to vacate the home by his wife's father, and he reportedly protested by stating he pays rent and had a right to be there. At the end of the shouting match, Zimmerman allegedly punched the father-in-law in the face. To add an even more interesting wrinkle to the story, Zimmerman may have brought his new girlfriend with him to the home as well.
It's just a hunch, but something tells us Zimmerman's issues won't end anytime soon.
