Say what you will about Lupe Fiasco and his eccentric personality, but his ability to rhyme can never be questioned. Case in point, the Chicagorilla liberated a new track interestingly titled “Peace of Paper Cup of JAYZUS.”
Even the most seasoned Hip-Hop listeners will need to spin this a few times to catch the subtle nuances in Lupe’s bars. “I’m fly paper on the brain/ This and two-ply paper just ain’t the same/ I do do it for the bottom,” spit the MC.
This song is the follow-up to the equally lyrical “SLR 3 (Round Of Applause)” and “SLR2,” a track made in response to Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse.
As far as we know, both cuts are freebie releases. However, Lupe Fiasco is currently prepping his new album, Tetsuo & Youth. Hear “Peace of Paper Cup of JAYZUS” below.
