Now it its ninth year, the A3C Hip Hop Festival will again take over the city of Atlanta in October. Featuring a star-studded performing lineup, film showcases, art and much more, the A3C – which stands for “All 3 Coasts” – has grown to become one of largest gatherings of its kind.

Starting on October 2, the five-day event will be spread throughout four major sections of Atlanta: Old 4th Ward, Little 5 Points, Downtown, and East Atlanta Village. After the A3C’s major success last year, which Hip-HopWired covered, the festival’s organizers have added days and more big names along with rising up and comers to the packed roster.

Among the many headliners, Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah, Bun B, DJ Premier, Too Short, Questlove, and Pharoahe Monch would be enough of a draw for many. Also included rocking out will be TDE’s Schoolboy Q and Jay Rock, following their label mate Ab-Soul’s blistering performance from last year. The ladies will also be represented well with Jean Grae, Rapsody, Boog Brown, Stahrr and Katie Got Bandz all scheduled to rock.

Several films will be screened as well, such as Cheryl Dunn’s documentary Everybody Street, which focuses on New York’s street photography culture. Jeff Broadway’s documentary, Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton: This Is Stones Throw should also be a treat for fans of the legendary underground rap label. Karmaloop will also be in effect showing off fashion at the Style Village in Little 5 Points.

An all-access pass is the best way to experience the event, which gives free reign to jump in and out of the various venues in order to see all acts. It is impossible to check out all the performers with such a large event, but the festival has a little something for everyone. For underground backpacker types to trap rap enthusiasts, A3C covers all the bases easily.
