Snoop Lion is one of a few MCs that found a way to remain relevant through multiple transformations during his career. And according to our discussion with the veteran at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards, he plans to give his sons, Cordé Broadus and Cordell Broadus, the jewels necessary to do the same.

Together, Snoop and his sons form The Broadus Boyz on a new mixtape that displays the brothers’ talent on the microphone. “My sons is rapping now and they’re having fun, so I wanted to do something with them to say that I love and appreciate them for what they do.

“It’s encouraging to know that you inspired so many people, especially your own kids.”

Snoop also revealed that The Broadus Boyz’ Royal Fam project is just the tip of the iceberg of what fans can look forward to new music wise. Before the year is out, he’ll release a collaborative body of work with Dam-Funk titled Seven Days of Funk. Following, the West Coast rhymer will also deliver Birds of a Feather, a music and film combo he created with Iza Lach.
