Michael B. Jordan has come quite a long way since starring in HBO’s The Wire as teenage drug dealer, Wallace. After delivering a star turn in this summer’s Fruitvale Station, Jordan is in talks to star in the upcoming Star Wars film and other big Hollywood productions.

Wednesday (Oct. 9) night, Jordan and a list of other up and coming stars were in attendance at People magazine’s “Ones To Watch” party in Los Angeles. Along with actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Rebel Wilson, Jordan was listed among the eight entertainers to make the coveted list. Jordan realizes his time is coming, and he’s taking on all he can handle.

“You win Sundance, you pop up on a lot of peoples’ radar,” Jordan said at the party. “So it’s been incredible. It’s a different conversation. Studios, producers, writers, directors, getting to know a lot of people in the industry.”

Coming up for Jordan is a role in an upcoming Rocky spinoff with Sylvester Stallone, reading for a part in the highly anticipated J.J. Abrams Star Wars film, and possibly taking over Will Smith’s lead role in a sequel for Independence Day. There’s even a shot at Jordan playing The Human Torch in a Fantastic Four reboot. But it appears Jordan was most excited about the Stars Wars opportunity.

“I mean, everybody’s going in on this project. They’re trying to figure out what they want,” Jordan added. “That’s another incredible franchise. It’s pretty crazy. We’ll see how it happens. I don’t know how I can do everything.”

People‘s “Ones To Watch” list hits newstands this Oct. 22.
