Rocko has seen a considerable amount of success in Hip-Hop. But did you know this was despite him never having intentions on being a rapper?

Yes, you read that right. In recent years, the Atlanta native has been focused on getting his artist Future off the ground, but prior to that hits like “Umma Do Me” and even more recently “U.O.E.N.O.” gave him solo notoriety.

“I came in the game back in the early 2000s, and I started a record label. I never wanted to rap. I always wanted to find talent, and develop it, and put out talent,” Rocko explained at the 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards.

According to the mogul, people always said he had the swagger of an MC. With that in mind, he began recording for fun and just happened to create a hit in the former of the aforementioned records. And the rest is, as they say, history.
