Earlier this month, Sundance Channel debuted the unscripted television series, Dream School, which features prominent figures and entertainers mentoring troubled youth and high school dropouts. In tonight’s (Oct. 21) episode, producer Swizz Beatz gamely took on a series of challenges in working with the group.
The tough-love approach on Dream School showcases the combined efforts of educators and the guest experts, focusing on their impossible task of turning around the scholastic fortunes of the students in 30 days. Although the staff has shown some leniency, the students aren’t responding to the degree expected. However, it appeared that the kids really took to Swizz Beatz and his guest teaching stint.
“So the goal is to eventually write a song to see where all the students’ minds are,” explained Swizz of his role in teaching music education to the group. “Just give them a chance to express themselves and hopefully that’ll lead to a bunch of great things.”
