Snoop Dogg, Lion, Zilla–whatever loves his sons, evidenced from the quality time spent on reality shows and studio sessions. And he didn’t raise them to be soft, evidenced from his youngest, Cordell, being one of the top wide receiver high school recruits in the country. Yet, football can be fuel a lot of emotions in the players and sometimes things on the field can get testy.

This past Friday (Oct. 18), Cordell was involved in a royal rumble where he got involved in some unnecessary roughness after the play was over.

TMZ has obtained some grainy footage but more importantly details of the ordeal.

16-year-old Cordell — a junior wide receiver at Diamond Bar High School in CA — was playing against rival Diamond Ranch HS on 10/18 when a shoving match broke out.

In footage obtained by TMZ, you can see Broadus (wearing #21) charging from the sideline to the middle of the field … and throwing a haymaker at an opposing player.

After the punch, the situation escalated into a full-blown melee, with both benches clearing. The game was called off with roughly 3 minutes remaining due to the fight.

Now, the fallout is underway.

The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) — the body that governs high school football in CA — has suspended several players from both teams.

Sources tell us … Cordell Broadus is one of the suspended players.

It is what it was. On any given Friday, kids are known to get aggressive when it comes to these competitive sports. The likelihood of this hurting his chances for college are slim (especially with the perceived contributions a university could expect from Daddy Dogg) but this should teach him a lesson to take heed to the whistleblowers from this point on.
