There’s a diverse group of MCs bubbling in the city of Philadelphia. Today, we receive material from one you might be familiar with named Ryshon Jones.

His track, titled “Current,” is energetic and club-friendly to an extent, but that comes with a meaning. It actually comes with the message, “f**k the words they want bass,” which signifies how many listeners’ find a tune’s beat to be more alluring than a rapper’s rhymes. Jones received some assistance from Baltimore producer HI$TO.

“Current” will appear on Ryshon Jones’ forthcoming Track Fifteen project. Be on the lookout for that and the first single “Perception,” due out soon. Hear “Current” below.
