The Internets received a few audible blessings courtesy of Talib Kweli in the last week or so. It looks like the former Rawkus MC has no plans on slowing down, as he delivers a new track called “Violations,” featuring Raekwon.

At one point, Kweli says “this is raw rap.” And frankly, that’s the only way to describe this heater. The Brooklyn MC and The Chef throw down in a competitive lyrical onslaught. Yes, the tune is as dope as it looks on paper.

Producer Thaddeus Dixon crafted a complex beat that boasts an echoing, drum-heavy musicality before potent strings and uptempo percussion enter the fold, creating an entirely new mood.

“Violation” will appear on Kweli’s forthcoming Gravitas album, due to release Sunday, December 15. The physical copy drops February of next year exclusively on his official website. Until then, stream the track guilt free below and share your thoughts in the comments.
