Wale is passionate about his craft. So passionate that he’ll make his feelings known with no chill. Apparently Complex wasn’t aware of this distinct character trait when they omitted him from a recent best of 2013 list.

Earlier in the week Complex released their “50 Best Albums of 2013” list which covered all genres of music but did feature releases from some rappers including Migos, A$AP Ferg, French Montana and 2Chainz, to name a few.

Wale caught word that his album The Gifted was left out of their picks and he felt in a serious ways about it. To the point where the “Bad” rapper speculated that the staff has a personal bias against him and the situation escalating to him threatening the assistant editor at Complex with physical violence over the phone.

“At this point, you know it’s got to be personal,” he told journalist Insanul Ahmed in audio Complex posted. “You telling me it’s not personal. It’s like a bold face lie. To be omitted from every type of list that y’all do or be at the bottom of it or every type of way that y’all can omit me, ya will.”

When Ahmed denied any shade Wale quickly cut him off asking, “You mean to tell me Juicy J album better than mine; is that what you trying to tell me?”

Things got even more tense when the writer tried to explain how the list was crafted. Wale went into Defcon 5 and screamed saying, “I swear to God I’ll come to that office and start knocking n—-s the fuck out.”  “I’ll see y’all tomorrow. Get the security ready.”

Complex tried to follow up with the Maybach Music Group artist but to no luck. Thankfully the security wasn’t needed as no Sharkeisha fades were served.

You can hear the audio of the conversation below.

Has Wale lost it? Or does he have a point about getting shafted out of best albums of 2013 honors? Did you like Juicy J’s Stay Trippy better than the The Gifted? And finally, was Complex wrong or right for putting the audio out there? Let us know your feelings in the comments section below.
