Pick and choose your girlfriends wisely fellas, because Joshua Brewster of Pekin, Ill. almost saw his demise at the hands of his ex-girlfriend. Amanda Pollard, 28, was charged with tampering with food, a class two felony, after she allegedly broke into her former beau’s home and laced his food with rat poison.
Pollard reportedly lived with the man until December 1, when Brewster called police to have the woman evicted from their home. She returned the next thing to grab her things, and reportedly threatened to set fire to the house with Brewster inside.
Suspecting foul play, the man asked a friend to check on his place, where the third party found Pollard setting booby traps out of spite. The friend told police he saw her put rat poison in a coffee container and cereal container. Pollard also urinated in his mouthwash, and attempted to electrify Brewster’s bed by cutting an electric blanked cord and placing it under the mattress.
“Payback’s a bitch,” said Pollard according to Pekin Times. Pollard is in the Tazewell County Jail on $50,000 bond. She has a court date set for December 26.
