Saigon has been making more news for his baby mama exploits on Love & Hip Hop New York than for his music lately. The New York rapper admits that his career took a backseat thanks to fatherhood, but is now ready to get his music back on track. Also, he insists entering the reality television fold was just an extension of his rap life.

‘”My first single when I was on Atlantic Records was ‘So Much Pain In My Life’ with Trey Songz. The song was about the problems I was going through in my real life,” Saigon told Hip-Hop Wired. “Then I’m on the Internet punching Prodigy from Mobb Deep in the face and there’s 20 guys chasing me.”

He continued, “Then I’m on there with girls who I’m trying to go out on a date with and we get into a fight and they making World Star videos. I’m like, Sh*t, y’all making my life a reality show anyway so when the opportunity came to me I’m like why not capitalize off this opportunity cause y’all already putting me in the public eye. Whenever y’all catch a video of me it’s all over the world and I don’t have no control over how I’m being depicted.”

Saigon says his new album is due in February 2014 and he actually premiered his latest single, “Best Mistake,” on Love & Hip-Hop New York.
