The Cleveland man who was hailed as a hero for rescuing three woman who had been missing for over a decade, has signed a book deal to publish his memoir, NBC reports.

The last time Charles Ramsey was in the news, it was revealed he was down to his last dime and homeless. Now, after he initially refused offers to increase his fortune, it seems the struggling ex-con has seen the light and struck the iron before it becomes touchable.

Cleveland publishing house Gray & Co. signed the deal for a memoir by Ramsey on Thursday, the publisher said in a statement.

Ramsey, 44, garnered national attention after his unfiltered response to media attention he received for breaking down his next door neighbor's door to rescue Gina DeJesus, Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and Berry's daughter from a house where they had been imprisoned by their kidnapper for about 10 years.

“Charles says outrageous things, but what a story he has,” Nyerges said, according to Gray and Co.'s announcement.

There's no word yet how much the deal is worth, but both parties seem to be pleased with its outcome.

The Ariel Castro saga reached a sense of closure this past September when the convicted rapist was found dead after hanging himself in his prison cell.

Ramsey was offered free burgers for life and has made appearances with hometown rap group, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, but for the most part he's held true to his word of being reclusive.

Do you think Chuck's book will sell or is his 15 minutes reached its expiration date? Sound off in the comments.
