Street artist and graphic designer Jason “Jay Shells” Shelowitz recently captured the latest installment of “Rap Quotes,” an artistic project that places street signs featuring rap lyrics citing streets and intersections in their proper locations.

Having conquered New York City earlier this year, it only made sense for Jay Shells to take his services to Los Angeles. Again, ANIMAL teamed up with him to bring his vision to life. Now, bars from the likes of Snoop Dogg, Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., Kendrick Lamar, MF Doom, Warren G, Nipsey Hussle, Too $hort, Eazy E, The Game, Action Bronson, Kurupt, and more can be seen on red attention-catching signs throughout Compton, South Central, and an array of LA neighborhoods.

“A lot of rappers call out their block,” Jay Shells said last March. “When you’re on a corner that’s called out in a song, I think it’s cool to know that.”

If you agree, see a video below and the corresponding photos on the following pages. “Rap Quotes: LA Edition” can be found in full here.
