At the top of each year, it’s customary for Forbes to release their annual “30 Under 30” selection, which commemorates outstanding achievements by young gunners in a range of industries. On the musical front, 2013 rap darlings Drake (27) and Kendrick Lamar (26) made the 2014 list along with J. Cole (28) and Wiz Khalifa (26).

Following a year that delivered new albums from all but the TDE lyricist, you can understand why these were the four selected from Hip-Hop. This actually marks the third consecutive time that Khalifa made the cut.

Ryan Lewis, 25, the producer behind Macklemore’s success, is also a part of this elite class. His partner in rhyme didn’t make it because he didn’t make the 3o-year-old age cut off.

Other names you’ll recognize from Forbes‘ musical “30 Under 30” include Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Miguel, Janelle Monáe, and more. See the entire list here.
