The latest MC to join the TDE fold, Isaiah Rashad, returns with a new track titled “RIP Kevin Miller.” But that was to be expected after the imprint’s boss Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith promised a new release today.
Chants of, “Y’all live for b**ches and blunts/ We live for weed and money,” has a hypnotizing effect. Those words are complimented by a mellow instrumental, on which Rashad grunts powerful lines before commanding all with open ears to “wake up!”
The cut was produced by Black Metaphor, whose production credits boasts placements with Meek Mill, French Montana, and a sleeper pick in Lil Bibby’s “Water.”
Rashad and Metaphor (no pun attended) prove to be a winning combination on this song, which will appear on the newcomer’s upcoming Cilvia project. Stream “RIP Kevin Miller” below.
