Everybody deserves a little time to sit back and reflect. After two albums, a handful of mixtapes and blossoming rap career, Rocky Rivera reserves the right for just that with her latest “Ain’t No Way” visual.

Some people keep a journal to document their memories. Others opt for a locket or heart-shaped box, no Nirvana. The Bay Area rapper favors the latter as her past doesn’t just hinder on her own personal triumphs and tribulations, she gives viewers an up-close look at her family tree, such as her father’s military background.

The video hosts all sorts of the nostalgia goodness and electronic relics, i.e. Polaroid cameras, VCR’s and tape decks. Kids, you have it beyond made with your musical access and U.O.E.N.O. As the child actresses in the video hint at, board games, playing outside and this little emotion known as imagination were big factors in recreation in the 1990s.

“Ain’t No Way” is ganked from Double R’s most recent LP, Gangster of Love. Unlike the title’s sinister moniker, Rocky chose to kill MCs with intelligent forms of lyricism opposed to just “killing ’em.”

Check out the nostalgic clip below and stream/purchase Gangster of Love on Bandcamp. As an additional bonus, hit the flip to check the previously released “No Love” video.
