The third chapter of Steve Stoute's The Tanning Of America documentary series chronicled the pivotal years of 1993 through 1999 where Hip-Hop grew by leaps and bounds.
"Part Three: Gimme The Loot" gives further insight on the impact that Rap's second golden era had on pop culture with classic albums from Nas, Dr. Dre, Notorious B.I.G. and others.
In "Part Two: Fight The Power", Dapper Dan expanded on the styles of French luxury fashion houses to make clothes for the inner city during the 1980's. The game was changed in the 1990's as designers like Tommy Hilfiger saw a change in his reach when Snoop Dogg wore the infamous "TOMMY" rugby on Saturday Night Live.
Highlighted on a larger scale is how Hip-Hop became a legitimate platform for business with companies like Time Warner and Estée Lauder tanning their marketing strategies. Also captured was the movement created by Sean "Diddy" Combs, the scope of music videos were changed by Brett Ratner and more.
