The Struggle Files: Adrien Broner Raps On Rick Ross-Assisted “.40″ [LISTEN]

For the God of us, we can’t understand why rappers and athletes don’t stay in their own lanes. Maybe we wouldn’t feel this way if their talents were transferable, but history infers this is usually far from the case, and that’s apparent on boxer Adrien Broner’s new rap song “.40.”

Yes, the animated fighter’s first major move following a devastating lost to Marcos Maidana is a 16 bar verse on wax. And for solidification (if that’s what you want to call it), he connected with MMG head honcho, Rick Ross, on the track. To be honest, Broner’s MC dreams aren’t surprising. It simply gives him a chance to kick the filthy talk he spews in interviews over music.

In past interviews, he’s cited guys like Meek Mill and others as personal favorites, and his music represents that. But here’s the thing. Broner isn’t a rapper, and the fact that he’ll cop that plea the moment his questionable bars are challenged is bothersome.

With an offer to fight Amir Khan on the table, we can only assume that Broner will walk out to “.40″ should he choose to fight him. Just wait for it. Hear the record below.

Ab will end up like Zab Judah or even worse, he’ll lose again to Amir Khan, once he’s wash up and all his money gone, let’s hope he finds God.
