Biggie Smalls is the illest, and because of this, collaborator and legendary producer, DJ Premier, teamed up with singer Stage Soul Music to create a tribute track called “March 9th.”
The title marks the day The Notorious B.I.G. was murdered in 1997. Nearly 20 years later, the case remains unsolved. That inspired questions from the crooner, but none are more prevalent than, “But who shot you?” Stage Soul Music padded his lyrics with a list of the Bad Boy superstar’s infamous song titles. And that’s without mentioning that Premo’s production would be well-suited for Brooklyn’s favorite if he were still with us today.
