Seeing Pharrell win never gets old. That said, the Grammy winning producer appears on the April cover of GQ magazine.

That’s right, The Neptune’s flourish continues. But this wasn’t completely the case at the Academy Awards earlier in March. Many assumed that Pharrell would win Best Original Song for his smash record “Happy” from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack, but the Academy instead awarded “Let It Go” from Disney’s box office smash Frozen.

When asked about being snubbed by the awards show, Pharrell cleverly answered, “Well, trust me; when they read the results, my face was…frozen. But then I thought about it, and I just decided just to…let it go.”

Classic pun.

Skateboard P would go on to compare “Happy” and “Let It Go,” using prospective timelessness as the rubric. “Is it going to be here for ten years—that song from Frozen?,” Pharrell countered. Many would agree, as the loss came as a surprise to those watching at home.
