As you probably know by now, on Saturday morning (March 29), former The Source magazine owner, rapper and now Love & Hip Hop Atlanta cast member Benzino was shot by his own nephew while on the way to his mother’s funeral. On cue, the man born Raymond Scott has already conducted an interview from his hospital room.
“I’m more embarrassed than anything else to be honest with you,” Benzino told TheNEHipHop. “Because of me being a public figure and having to see that me and my family is going through that…I didn’t appreciate that. At the end of the day my mother is up there with her family now. She’s happy.”
Benzino ducked questions about why exactly his nephew, Gai Scott, licked off shots in his direction because of the “ongoing investigation.” However, the Boston native did detail his injuries (he was hit in the arm and back) and talked about his reality show, Boston Hip-Hop and other topics.
