There’s an argument that says New York City is currently irrelevant in Hip-Hop, but Tony Yayo begs to differ. Alongside Uncle Murda and Joell Ortiz, the G-Unit rapper speaks highly of his city on “New York.”
“N***as saying that NY hit/But Jays on the charts and 50’s still rich,” Yayo raps before naming cliques from the Big Apple who’ve set trends. Murda and Ortiz follow-up with similar jargon, though both of their verses mention Trindad Jame$’ critical analysis of the City That Never Sleeps’ place on the Hip-Hop totem pole.
