The New York Daily News and New York Post are having a field day with the report that Rev. Al Sharpton worked as a paid informant for the FBI.
Earlier today, both publications ran images poking fun at Sharpton’s claim that snitching on mobsters for the feds doesn’t make him a “rat” but a “cat” (who caught rats).
The Smoking Gun broke the news that Sharpton worked for The Man. At a press conference yesterday Sharpton defended himself and denounced the “rat” title. “Rats are usually people that were with other rats,” he said. “I was not and am not a rat, because I wasn’t with the rats. I’m a cat. I chased rats.”
It didn’t take long for the papers to spin the rat-turned-cat comments into something totally different.
The Post called Sharpton a “Big P*ssy” and the Daily News dubbed him a “Rat Catcher” –complete with a photo of the 59-year-old as an actual cat (with a gold chain).
Did they go too far?
