News of Lil Wayne’s alleged last studio album is once again leaving anticipating fans with the troll face.

Cash Money seemingly had to perfect marketing plan for the unveiling of oft-delayed Tha Carter V album cover by using the indefinitely injured Kobe Bryant’s social media accounts to spread the news. With the inevitable reporting via music and sports outlets worldwide, it was a perfect way to let everyone know that the time for new singles and tracklists were right around the corner.

Wrong.

Young Money Records CEO Cortez Bryant was quick to deflate what little excitement was left in the room by denouncing the Black Mamba’s ground announcement while still promising that the album still was coming.

The Image that was posted yesterday is NOT the #carterV album cover!,” he said from the comforts of his Twitter account. “It’s just to let the @LilTunechi fans know that CarterV Season is here!”

In accord with the site archives, “CarterV Season” has been like oxygen for the past few years. It’s never left.

In 2012, Weezy and Cash Money promised to deliver it within a year, and now two years later, fans are rolling their eyes at the notion of it even droping in the first place.

Delays and Lil Wayne have had a long affair neither one of them plan on quitting anytime soon so should come as no surprise that the same situation is plagueing Tha Carter V.

Have a look at the appetizers in the gallery for yourself.
