Forbes‘ Wu-Tang Clan Documentary Details One-Of-One LP [VIDEO]
While Wu-Tang Clan fans reserve a morsel of hope for A Better Tomorrow to include each of the group’s living members, the collective have a more innovative LP on the way that will release unhitched. Forbes debuted a brief documentary about the secret album Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, which will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
A reporter from the publication traveled to Marrakech in Morocco to get a proper behind the scenes look at the handcrafted, one-of-one packaging by British-Moroccan artist Yahya and a proper preview of the music. For the latter, it was necessary to speak to producer Tarik “Cilvaringz” Azzougarh, who detailed the six rigorous years it took to create the album.
“The production of the album was done here in Marrakech before hand, and it was done in a very unconventional way, because I produced the music,” Azzougarh said. Wu-Tang stans know that this is usually RZA’s job, though he gave the final word on if each beat was acceptable. With Bobby Digital’s blessing, Azzougarh delegated verses to particular Wu rappers on each song based on his vision.
We won’t give away everything about the brief doc, so you’ll have to watch it below. Give us your thoughts in the comments.
