Historically speaking, some of the best music ever created acts as a means of catharsis for artists — a form of spiritual release if you will. Think about what “Ex-Factor” was to Lauryn Hill or “You Must Love Me” to Jay Z, or, to be more current, “Jason Geter” by Dee-1, a MC who’s always prolific in topic matter, poeticism, and the like.
The song is titled after T.I.’s accomplished manager. As the story goes, the New Orleans native dreamed to be managed by Geter, whose industry savvy and business expertise would be a determining factor in the wordsmith’s growing success. Dee-1 vividly details the trials and tribulations he experienced while trying to connect with someone who was never too far away.
