Magic Johnson Respond’s To Donald Sterling’s Racist CNN Remarks [VIDEO]

Earlier this week, Donald Sterling flew off the handle once again with demeaning comments towards Magic Johnson and other racist remarks during an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper. But Johnson isn’t taking this slander lying down, as he spoke with Cooper in response to Sterling’s so-called “apology.”

Sterling clearly hadn’t done much research prior to his latest television appearance, as he accused the NBA Hall of Famer — the man whose foundation promotes “the health, social, educational and physical well-being of urban youth” – of not properly supporting the Black community.

Johnson, of course, took the high road while speaking with Cooper. “I just wish he knew the facts when he’s talking, but he’s a man who’s upset,” Johnson said during the interview, which aired last night (May 13). “And he’s reaching. He’s trying to find something that he can grab onto to help his save his team. And it’s not going to happen.”

Though gracious in tone and demeanor, Johnson was quick to say that he found Sterling’s commentary “disturbing.” And that’s to be expected, as Sterling somehow managed to include irrelevant factors — i.e. the former Los Angeles Lakers guard contracting HIV — into the conversation.

“What’s really sad is, it’s not about me,” Johnson said. “This is about the woman you love outing you and taping you and putting your conversation out here for everybody to know. … This is between you two, but then he wants to include me.”

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver banned the Los Angeles Clippers owner from the league for life. Hear Magic Johnson speak in the footage below.
