31-Year-Old Woman Arrested For Impersonating High Schooler [PHOTO]

A bizarre story developing in Texas  centers on the arrest of a high school student. The suspect, thought to be 15 years of age, was actually a woman who was discovered to be twice that age.

Charity Anne Johnson, 31, was enrolled at New Life Christian School in the town Longview as a sophomore. As reported by KLTV, Johnson was arrested Sunday night after providing officers with a fake name and birthday. The alias Johnson used at New Life was Charity Stevens, which is which she tried using to dupe the cops earlier in the week.

KLTV has more:

A spokesperson for the school said Johnson was brought in to enroll with a person who was her guardian. She enrolled in the school, giving a date of birth that indicated she was 15. On Tuesday, staff at the school discovered her identification was fake. She had been a student there since October 2013.

Tamica Lincoln says back in March, Charity told her she was 15 and needed a place to stay. “I sympathized with her, and invited her into my home. I took her in as a child, did her hair, got her clothes and shoes…”

Johnson’s ruse was so good that Lincoln believed tales of Johnson being abused by parents, and even met with her school teachers for conferences and the like. According to KLTV’s report, Johnson’s con reached beyond Texas and it appears she had folks in other cities fooled as far away as Florida and Minnesota. Lincoln and another person began to suspect that Johnson was laying, and tipped off police and the school accordingly.

Johnson was arrested for failure to identify/giving false, fictitious information. She is locked up in the Gregg County Jail on $500 bond.
