A suspected burglar in Washington state has an awkward way of making friends. Police say Riley Allen Mullins 28, robbed a woman then sent her a Facebook friend request the very next day.

The robbery went down at the Bremerton ferry last Tuesday (May 27). A woman says she was sitting down when Mullins hit her in the back of the head, then stole her iPod and purse. The victim told police that she couldn’t make out his facial features, but remembered seeing a distinctive triangle tattoo on his neck.

Fast forward to the next day, and the Mullins tried to friend the woman on Facebook. She was able to positively identify him thanks to his profile photo –which just so happened to feature a close-up shot of the large tattoo.

Mullins must’ve really liked that tattoo of his. There were apparently lots of shots of the ink on his Facebook page. As such, authorities were able to confirm that the page belonged to him, and make the arrest.

He was charged with second-degree burglary.
