On Sunday night (June 8), the 2014 Tony Awards put on a special Hip-Hop performance, of all things, featuring LL Cool J, T.I. and Hugh Jackman.

Midway into the Tony Awards, host Hugh Jackman talked about being in a childhood production of the 1957 musical The Music Man, and crooned a few lines from the show’s opening number, “Rock Island.”

Before audience members knew it, the X-Men alum brought out Queens MC LL Cool J and ATL’s finest T.I. to join him in remixing the tune as a rap song. We cringed a little in anticipation of what Jackman would sound like spitting rhymes alongside two vets, but, truth is, he wasn’t half bad. Not that we would ever suggest him going in the rap biz.

Watch the full performance below. Tell us what you think in the comments.
