A gunman opened fire at Reynolds High School in Troutdale, Ore. Tuesday (June 10) morning killing one student before he died. Neither the victim’s name, nor the details surrounding the suspect’s death have been released.

Authorities say the incident, occurred at around 8 a.m. local time. Two SWAT teams were on the scene completing room-by-room walk throughs until the location was able to be secured, roughly one hour after the shooting. “This is a very tragic day, one that I had hoped would never ever be part of my experience,” Linda Florence, superintendent of the school district. “We feel very sorry for our parents.”

Students recalled the gunman wounding a teacher and getting “trapped” in a bathroom stall, according to The Oregonian. “I’m a little shaken up,” said 15-year-old Reynolds’ student Daniel DeLong said. “I’m just worried. “It just, like, happened so fast, you know?”

Multiple shooters were believed to be involved after authorities patted down students, and found two people carrying guns. Police have since confirmed that a sole suspect carried out the shooting with a semi-automatic riffle.

Troutdale is a town of about 16,000 people, and is approximately 12 miles from Portland. Tomorrow was scheduled to be the last day of classes before summer break.
