Add former Fugees rapper Pras to the list of rappers caught up in child support struggle. Although he is in Brazil for the World Cup, it seems that he is due in court today (Thursday, June 12), to deal with his baby momma’s request that he up his monthly payments.

The New York Post seems to be tracking Pras’ itinerary, reporting:

Angela Severiano had a long-term relationship with the two-time Grammy-winning rapper, but the two broke up before she gave birth in March 2010. Severiano, a political consultant, hopes to boost her child support payments from Michel from a current $3,000 a month to $7,000.

In 2011, Severiano and Michel struck the deal for him to pay her $3,000 in child support to cover Landon’s expenses and care. But Severiano wants to increase the payments to cover Landon’s $2,500 a month school fees and for them to move to a larger apartment than the one-bedroom where they now live.

It may seem that Severiano is demanding a lot from the third wheel in the Fugees, but it seems that Pras is doing very well.

According to court documents seen by Page Six, Michel made more than $1 million last year, and spent $50,000 a month on rent alone for his two homes in Soho and Los Angeles. The documents claim Michel has missed several hearings during the proceedings, and has allegedly failed to fully disclose his income to the courts.

Severiano’s lawyer, Kenneth Sternberg, has subpoenaed Michel to appear as a witness at Thursday’s hearing. But according to postings on his Twitter feed, the singer-turned-political activist was heading to Brazil for the World Cup. He posted Facebook pictures of himself boarding a private jet with the caption, “#Flying #private here we come #Brazil #worldcup #worldcup2014.”

Pras could be held in contempt of court is he doesn’t make it to the hearing. Gotta be careful when stuntin’ on the ‘Gram.
