It’s probably not a good look to let children sit on the trunk and/or hood of a moving car. Kisha Young of Crowley, Texas, didn’t think this idea through when she let six kids hop on the back and front her Chevy Malibu Tuesday (June 17) evening. Four of the children fell off the trunk and Young , 38, was arrested. She and a friend were bringing their children back from the pool at around 8: 30 p.m., and “didn’t want to get the inside of the vehicle wet.”
The ride to home was less than a mile away from the pool. Police suspect that Young was drunk when she hit a turn too hard and four of the six flew off the car. Three of the minors, who ranged from ages 8 to 14, had to be taken to a hospital.
One child, the 12-year-old daughter of the woman riding with Young, suffered a severe head injury requiring longer care. Her mother may face charges as well.
Young was arrested first for intoxication. Two additional felony charges for injury to a child, and driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15 were added on later.
